Opinion | The Prime Minister has become the "Head of the Recommendation" | Israel today

2021-12-19T20:06:16.343Z

The Prime Minister no longer makes decisions and imposes restrictions but is busy making recommendations • When running a country of millions, clear laws, unequivocal decisions and sanctions must be used on those who violate them.

What happens when the prime minister does not really control his government and does not decide?

He becomes prime minister and head of recommendation.

Yes.

This is not a mistake.

He no longer makes decisions and imposes restrictions but is busy making recommendations.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett appeared in front of the cameras tonight during the news broadcasts (after criticizing his predecessor who used to do so), resolutely addressed the citizens of Israel and asked them, he literally begged them to accept his recommendations to deal with the fifth corona wave that would soon crash on us.

He has recommended workplaces to allow remote work but he does not force them to do so, so why would they follow his recommendation?

He advises Israelis not to fly abroad but even at home they do not really get the recommendation and fly for a vacation in the Maldives (and do not forget to post pictures that will catch everyone's eye), so why should other Israelis listen to his recommendations?

He advises everyone to run fast and vaccinate their children but his education minister, the one in charge of our two and a half million children, does not think there is anything to get into hysteria and vaccinate in schools so why should parents listen to his recommendations?

And for a moment it seemed like he was already making a certain decision and forcing the presentation of a green sign at the entrance to the malls, but then his government decided to overturn the decision and make it something at the discretion of the mall owners.

Again we returned to this area that is between the recommendation and the abandonment.

It is impossible to ignore the fact that a prime minister who controls at best six seats in the coalition is almost ineffective.

Being a prime minister sometimes means making unpopular decisions.

Tough decisions that may upset some of the public.

Recommendations It's nice in a youth movement, maybe even in a company class at school, sometimes it works for you at home, not always, but when running a country of millions you have to use clear laws, unequivocal decisions and also sanctions on who violates them.

When an epidemic is raging outside, decisive decisions seem inevitable.

Only in this way, Mr. Prime Minister, can an epidemic be defeated.

Were we wrong?

Fixed!
