NATO is discussing how to proceed with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Before that, Donald Trump Jr. also speaks up – with a questionable idea.

Munich – The Ukraine war is also giving Donald Trump an international stage again.

However, the sometimes confused statements of the former US President are more of a deterrent.

Shortly after the start of the Russian invasion, the Republican, who is once again aiming for the White House, described Vladimir Putin's actions as "brilliant" and "savvy" and identified "the strongest peacekeeping force I have ever seen".

Later he confronted the Kremlin boss with martial words.

In a

Fox

interview, Trump spoke of a "Holocaust".

Also, according to a

Washington Post

report, he is said to have suggested outfitting US jets with Chinese flags to "bomb the shit out of Russia" and provoke a conflict between Beijing and Moscow.

He also recently spoke about the “brand new nuclear weapons”.

Ukraine war: Donald Trump is to represent the USA at a special NATO summit - says his son

All in all, more than enough to illustrate common sense: It's a good thing that the 75-year-old has no decision-making powers in these times.

Which, of course, his camp would like to change quickly.

His eldest son Donald Trump Jr. actually suggested sending Joe Biden's predecessor to the NATO special summit next Thursday (March 24) in Brussels.

There the heads of state and government want to discuss how to proceed with regard to Russia and the war of aggression.

Trump Jr. therefore warned on Twitter: “Sending Biden to the talks at the NATO special summit would only encourage our enemies.

If we want to do it right, we should send Trump.”

Putin's war in Ukraine: Trump has an inglorious history with Zelenskyy

The response to this odd suggestion was correspondingly devastating.

In the comments, many users recalled Trump's closeness to Putin during his presidency, whom he met almost submissively.

The question was also raised as to whether the Russian position should be presented with Trump.

Not to forget the inglorious history with Volodymyr Zelenskyj.

The first impeachment procedure against Trump was based on the fact that he wanted to secretly urge the then newly elected President of Ukraine to investigate Biden's son Hunter, who sits on the board of directors of a Ukrainian natural gas company.

Putin and the war in Ukraine: Trump once called NATO obsolete and allegedly wanted to leave

Trump's role would be questionable in the group anyway, as he once called NATO obsolete.

Shortly after the outbreak of war, however, he boasted about his achievement of having encouraged the members to pay their debts during his presidency: "NATO would no longer exist if I had not reacted so strongly and quickly."

However, two reporters from the

Washington Post

wrote in a tell-all book that Trump had planned for the United States to leave NATO in the event of his re-election.

Irrespective of the truthfulness of these quotes, it is hard to imagine that the defense alliance would appear similarly united, at least to the outside world, if Trump were to sit at the negotiating table instead of Biden.
