Maypoles over maypoles: in Wartenberg, too, the folk costume association and youth community are busy tinkering with their new magnificent pole – a 24-meter-long spruce tree, donated by Rudi Schwaiger from Auerbach.
Wartenberg – As Trachtler boss Sepp Korber reported in an interview with our newspaper, the maypole friends felled the tree in mid-January.
"14 days later we brought it in and scooped it up." Work has been going on for about a week now, and the tree has been painted blue and white, among other things.
Taferl and wreath will come soon.
Where exactly the work is taking place, Korber does not want to reveal.
After all, the thieves would just be lurking.
In addition, of course, the further preparations for the festival on Sunday, May 1st are already underway: from 11 a.m. there will be lunch, from 1 p.m. the maypole will be set up at the community center.
