Opinion | Bennett did not win, Shikli did not lose Israel today

2022-04-26T20:16:13.237Z

The "Shikli" brand will be thanked for being re-lit yesterday; If until today his character in the plot was of a valued hero, from today she will receive the treatment of a martyr

The media announced: "Victory for Bennett: Shikli will be announced as a retiree", but the celebrations are too early.

Not because there is a real chance of turning the bowl over, but because dismissing Shikli will give a boost to the camp for which he is lying on the fence, and some say (i.e. I) that he will even build the entire right-wing campaign in the battle elections.

Allegedly, this is a severe blow to a politician who bought his world by refusing to lie to himself.

If he closes the door on running on an existing list, he will lose the million shekels that the state gives as funding for elections to unspecified MKs, and if he sets up an independent list - he will be accompanied by the alarming public debate "Is this vote for Shekli to burn the vote and lose the right?"

But a good word about Bennett: In his campaign of revenge, Bennett built Netanyahu's right-wing campaign for the next election.

The protagonist of the plot has three main options: to head a list that he will compile, to strengthen a list that will be compiled, or to remain in public through a position he will receive from Benjamin Netanyahu.

If he puts together a list, the success of a party without activists is uncertain, but the situation is not necessarily bad.

An election campaign needs a story, and Shikli brings an emotional story like no other right-winger has: "The people of Israel are not stupid ... seemingly yesterday we lost and I was declared retired - but we were happy to the roof from the tremendous support," Shikli said at the end of the debate.

The "Shikli" brand will be thanked for being re-lit yesterday;

If until today his character in the plot was of a valued hero, from today she will receive the treatment of a martyr.

The establishment of a Shikli list is of great concern to the national camp, especially in light of the fear that voters will no longer easily give their vote to small atmospheric parties, which could betray politically or be wiped out.

On the other hand, there have never been just two right-wing parties - the challenge will be to control their chances of passing.

The public that chooses Shikli will believe in the election campaign for another promise: retirement in a state of camp risk.

The feeling here is that he is a non-politician who will retire if he finds that he is going to bury votes on the right.

Young voters will join the circle of gratitude.

Some are looking for a protest vote, some are feeding on a "wonderful country," some who will feel that to vote for Netanyahu is to vote for a dish that has been heated in the past - Shakli on the poster will close the corner of a new brand free of corruption and violent messiah.

The right-wing voices that followed Bennett and Saar, and that after a year discovered that they had received parties whose whole essence was subservience to an Arab list, preserving the power of the justice system and harassing Netanyahu - would look for a new home.

Another plot line will center around the "underdog": In the right-wing campaign, there will be a stubborn mental battle over "who is the victim."

Because if Netanyahu is a victim of the judicial and biased media system, Shikli is a victim of Bennett and the right that betrayed the camp, and many voters will jump at the chance to make the correction for him.

And another important statistic: Towards the finish line, Netanyahu's mandate machine will not be able to ignore assisting Shikli and producing Order 8 at the ballot box, as was done to the Smutrich force at the time.

So in the battle Bennett won, but in the whole war - not sure at all.

Were we wrong?
