Honorary symposium for researcher and critic Hanna Abboud in Homs Culture

The Homs branch of the Arab Writers Union today honored the great Syrian researcher and critic Hanna Aboud, through an extensive symposium held in the cultural center of Homs, in the presence of Abboud and a group of Homs intellectuals, writers, critics and those interested in the cultural affairs in Homs.

In his speech during the honoring, Abboud spoke about his literary experience and presented a deep comparison between Farhan Bulbul and Saadallah Wannous, indicating that he is currently preparing a book (literary composition) and it will be published soon.

And about Abboud, he spoke during the symposium, theatrical Farhan Bulbul, saying: It is extremely difficult to study and evaluate what Abboud accomplished in his life. and Abboud during the period of their friendship, which extends for more than 40 years.

The poet and critic Saad Al-Din Kulaib explained that Abboud should have studied academically in several ways because he has several fields that can be studied, combined with his updated critical awareness and his philosophical awareness despite the discrepancy between the topics and specializations in which he excelled, pointing out that one of the features of his critical awareness is the encyclopedic holistic and aesthetic methodology.

Kulaib indicated that Abboud adhered to the critical method and was switching between one method and another, including Marxist realism and structural criticism.

The writer Ghassan Lafi Tohme pointed out that Abboud is an encyclopedic writer who was preoccupied with literature, thought, criticism and translation for six decades. Successive writings to confirm this ripe fruit.

A member of the Executive Office of the Arab Writers Union Farouk Selim said: “Hana Abboud is a Syrian Arab title that tells of a unique experience of working with criticism, translation and encyclopedic classification, a work based on the national achievement in criticism and international translation. and bitter honey) and she brings back new translators in the fields of philosophy, politics, criticism and literary placement.”

The writer Omaima Ibrahim, head of the Homs branch of the Arab Writers Union, referred to the union’s orientations to honor the distinguished members of its members whose literary output contributed to making visible landmarks of our culture, noting the distinguished cultural output of the researcher and critic Hanna Abboud.

It is noteworthy that the researcher and critic Hanna Aboud, born in 1937 in Qalatiyah, Homs, has more than 100 books in thought, literature and translation, and received the State Appreciation Award from the Ministry of Culture in 2012.
