Not everything is pink: a strong 1000 bag, but it can be cracked Israel today

2022-07-19T19:40:28.369Z

The "supply line" claim in case 1000 is based on three stations: "Purchase", "Choice" and "Target" • While the first is established, the other two can be appealed by Netanyahu's attorney In the gift bag so far

After more than a year of evidentiary hearings in the Prime Minister's files - a witness like Hadas Klein has never been.

At times, the plaintiffs, attorneys Alon Gildin and Keren Tzabiran, seem unnecessary.

Klein controls the situation.

She testified so far about the systematic way in which the cigars and champagne were handed over to the Netanyahu couple and coined the term "supply line" coined in the indictment.

According to her testimony, not only did Benjamin Netanyahu know about the transportation of the goods from the billionaires, to him certainly but also to his wife - he even encouraged them when they were embarrassed to come.

Netanyahu contacted Klein and her boss, tycoon and Hollywood producer Arnon Milchen, and explained that it was allowed to receive gifts from friends.

But Netanyahu also knew that not every gift could be accepted.

"Apartment is impossible."

That is, everyone agrees that not all gifts and not to every extent can be received from friends.

There are circumstances that cross the threshold of membership to the criminal threshold.

In the cross-examination, Netanyahu's actions in favor of Milchen have not yet been attacked, this will happen after the holiday in September, but Klein has already testified how Milchen's gift traffic was interpreted: "He has a prime minister at the push of a button."

Weaknesses

The first days of the cross-examination were almost meaningless.

Only on the last day before the break did defense attorney Hadad arrive at the flesh of the indictment.

Haddad dealt mainly with the champagne that Milchen allegedly provided to Netanyahu.

This is a volume of NIS 184,000.

That is, the hearing was about one-fifth of the indictment.

The "supply line" has three stations.

The first is the "purchase" - the amount of champagne purchased.

The second is the "choice" - how many of them were transferred to the Netanyahu couple, and the third is the "destination" - how many reached their destination.

The first station is cast in concrete.

There are invoices showing how many champagnes Milchen purchased in total.

The weak points of the indictment are in the second and third stations, and the same defense attorney Haddad used in favor of his client's defense.

How?

And did he succeed?

Hadas Klein managed the purchase of the drinks for Milchen's home.

She testified that many of the invoices attesting to the purchase of alcohol were intended for Milchen's personal consumption and for the benefit of accommodation at a mansion in Beit Yanai.

The researchers, as well as the judges, wanted to estimate how much of the total champagne was transferred to Netanyahu and it took 65%.

This is how the police and the State Attorney's Office came to champagne on the scale indicated above.

Klein is a credible witness and the prosecution relied on that.

She therefore based the amount on her assessment, but did not substantiate this version with rigid evidence.

Haddad presented in the cross-examination the volume of water bottles purchased for the estate: about 4,000 bottles of 250 ml over a period of about 70 days. What is the connection? Klein was surprised by the amount. This means that in the Milchen house where a couple and children live, they drank 14 liters of water Klein explained that there are quite a few guests at the house and that there is a maintenance team that also drinks.

Judge Moshe Baram asked prosecutor Gildin, "Can we say that we are in a fog regarding the division (which champagnes were used by Milchen and which Netanyahu)?".

Gildin stressed that Klein's 65% estimate has weight.

Judge Baram later asked to estimate how many times Milchen and Packer came to Balfour with champagne and cigars and Klein replied that she could not appreciate.

Judge Baram responded: "It is impossible to estimate how many meetings were possible, but it is possible to estimate how many bottles were delivered?".

Although Klein insisted that the Milchen family did not drink pink champagne but only sang, it is safe to say that Haddad managed to fend off some of the 180,000, even if not all of them.

Netanyahu also distributed gifts?

In contrast to the achievement regarding champagne from Milchen, when it comes to cigars, with the exception of two boxes, Haddad found it difficult to present real evidence that would point to a target other than Netanyahu.

Klein insisted that all the boxes were for Netanyahu.

Here the police showed creativity.

She examined how many cigars Netanyahu bought for himself.

The conclusion reached is very little.

That is, if he did not buy, there is another source that provided them.

But this matter has not yet been clarified in a cross-examination.

The third station is as stated the "destination".

Haddad presented that Milchen's driver said during his interrogation that in the six years of the indictment he had traveled to Jerusalem 25 times with deliveries to Netanyahu.

Haddad claimed that this was a low number.

Klein immediately remarked, "But what about traveling within Jerusalem from the hotel to Balfour?".

In addition, there are dedications that Milchen and Packer performed themselves, dedications that Klein performed, and dedications at the Beit Yanai mansion that Netanyahu took himself.

This is an attempt that did not go up well.

Haddad claimed that as part of the friendship, during which it was alleged that the benefits were given, the Netanyahu couple also gave the Milchen couple gifts.

The evidence for this?

Haddad presented one gold pendant and claimed, without any evidentiary backing, that it was Sarah who bought it for Amanda Milchen.

In addition, he presented an email from Packer to Klein in which he thanked Sarah Netanyahu for gifts.

What gifts?

No one knows.

Klein insisted, "I do not know a single gift that Milchen received from Netanyahu."

Were we wrong?

Fixed!
