"Insufficient": Improvements must be made to the extension to the fire station

Heavy vehicles - some with de-icing salt and other liquids on the tires - have to park in the fire station.
You need solid concrete for that.
This causes problems on a construction site in Wolfratshausen.
Wolfratshausen – The station of the Weidach volunteer fire department is being expanded.
There was a serious glitch recently.
As commander and property planner Robert Buxbaum explained when asked by our newspaper, something went wrong with the concrete work.
The basement ceiling was not sufficient in terms of statics and durability.

"It would have been enough for a house," explains Buxbaum.
For the fire station, however, higher demands apply because the vehicle hall is to be built on this concrete ceiling.
The subsoil must therefore be able to withstand special loads: the fire engines not only weigh several tons, but also bring de-icing salt and other liquids with them.
"This requires a particularly high concrete compressive strength," says Buxbaum.
The first concrete slab did not have this.
The upper layer has to be dismantled and re-laid using high-pressure water.

Fire station Weidach: Concrete slab has to be renewed
This means not only "massive damage" in financial terms, but also a delay in the major project on Weidacher Hauptstrasse.
"Now we benefit from the fact that we had a rather relaxed construction plan - we can really use the air now," says Buxbaum.
Whether the overall project will be delayed despite this cannot yet be foreseen.
Neither the city nor the fire brigade bear the additional costs: "The responsible company has to take care of that."
Weidach: New vehicle hall, new changing rooms - the fire station solves many problems
As reported, the Weidacher fire station is getting an urgently needed extension.
A vehicle hall with said parking spaces on the ground floor is planned, as well as a changing area, toilet facilities and an alarm room.
A lecture hall, an office, a multifunctional room and a teaching aids room are located on the upper floor.
The basement houses storage areas and is to be connected to the ground floor by a freight elevator.
