The shocking video of the hail that hit a Texas ranch and the story of the bull that went viral

2023-04-28T19:19:46.912Z

The recording was recorded when the city of Dublin, in the United States, was hit by a violent storm.

A very violent storm affected the state of Texas,

in the United States, where pieces of hail the size of tennis balls fell, causing enormous damage to properties.

A resident of the town recorded a video to show the force with which the icefalls impacted and it went viral due to an unexpected protagonist:

one of his bulls, who was running for refuge

.

It happened this week, at the ranch of an American named

Gary Clayton,

located in the small town of Dublin, in central Texas.

It is a ranch inn with just over 3,600 inhabitants.

The strong storm caused damage to the Clayton ranch, which recorded with his cell phone the moment in which the pool of his house received the impacts of the huge rocks.

At that moment,

one of the bulls from his ranch crossed in front of the camera.

If the video of the very strong storm already had elements to go viral, the appearance of the animal made it become even more commented on social networks.

Everyone

lamented for the animal

, which was seen stressed seeking refuge from the stones that lashed its back.

Even the National Meteorological Service of Argentina took note and shared the video on its Twitter profile.

"The area was affected by severe #storms. The video shows how the hail impacts the ground and the water in a pool, while an animal seeks shelter," they wrote.

The video was so viral, and the fate of the animal caused so much commotion, that the WFAA channel in Texas went out to investigate how the steer was doing after the storm.

And they discovered that Drago, that's his name, had ten points.

Strong as a bull.

"Their skin is probably half an inch (1.5 cm) thick. So they have a layer of fat, some muscle. They're pretty tough," Clayton said.

He then recounted what happened after the video.

"(Drago) knew that the only shelter he really had was some trees. And that's where he was headed, he was looking to get under some trees to cushion the fall of the hail," she recounted.

"Cattle are a grazing animal. So it's not very easy to have a place for everyone to look for a stall. In fact, they probably wouldn't go into a stall because of the noise of the hail hitting the can," he recounted.

Drago arrived at the Clayton ranch a few years ago, so his owner is still "learning his bull's personality," although he says he is usually very laid back.

And tough enough to weather the storm.

“He is adjusting to the property and we are adjusting to him

,” he said.

President Biden declares a disaster in Florida due to storms and tornadoes

President

Joe Biden

approved a

major disaster declaration in Florida

due to storms, tornadoes and flooding that affected that state between April 12 and 14, the White House reported this Friday.

That declaration, which names Brett Howard as coordinator of recovery operations, orders the sending of aid from the federal government to the affected areas and especially in Broward County, in southeast Florida.

The assistance launched Friday includes

grants for temporary housing and home repair

, low-interest loans to cover losses on uninsured property, and "other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster".

In addition, the federal government makes available to state and local authorities, along with some private non-profit organizations, resources to share the cost of repairing or replacing facilities damaged by storms and flooding in Broward.

Federal funding is also available to share the cost of hazard mitigation measures across the state.

Most of Florida has received heavy rain and hail in recent days.

The announcement coincides with forecasts of storms with lightning, hail, high

winds and tornadoes from Brownsville, Texas, to the North Carolina coast

over the Atlantic Ocean.

In view of the current weather forecasts, the White House statement indicates that "additional (emergency) designations may be made if requested by the state and warranted by the results of the damage assessments"
