Nuremberg – For several years, the traditional Marientorzwinger restaurant in Nuremberg stood empty. Thanks to a new investor, it is to reopen and resume operations including a beer garden. Two experienced restaurateurs take over the management of the traditional restaurant in Nuremberg's city centre.

Opening date unclear: renovations and applications planned

The new investor for the property is MTZ Marientorzwinger Nürnberg Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG. It is a company of the Terraplan Group, which is responsible for the restoration of architectural monuments, and will "renovate the restaurant over the next few years and then put it back into operation in cooperation with two well-known Nuremberg restaurateurs," explains the city of Nuremberg in a press release. Due to the heritable building right, however, the city remains the owner of the property. However, the building becomes the property of the investor for a fixed term.

It is still unclear when the Marientor kennel will be opened. This year, the main focus will be on the building fabrics. A pollutant analysis is also to be carried out. Restoration and architectural investigations are also on the agenda for investors, and they must submit a building application and an application for a monument permit.
