Highlights: The operation in Jenin failed substantially - war does not work. Israel will not succeed in getting rid of the Palestinians, and the Palestinians won't succeed in throwing the Jews into the sea. Israel has become the most dangerous place for Jews. The most unfortunate thing is that until we reach the point where both peoples will firmly demand a peace agreement from their leaders, more blood will be spilled, and more families will enter the cycle of bereavement, pain and loss. So it's time for us to sanctify the piece of land where we all live, and to know how we can live, not justHow we can die.

The operation in Jenin failed substantially - war does not work • Israel will not succeed in getting rid of the Palestinians, and the Palestinians will not succeed in throwing the Jews into the sea • The time has come to draw conclusions

Israel registers another offensive operation and boasts of it to the people, at the entrance to the Jenin refugee camp.

Perhaps the operation was successful from an Israeli security perspective, but from my perspective, as an Arab citizen of the State of Israel, it should be seen as another failure for the State of Israel, for the government of Israel and for the people of Israel, because one cannot be proud of something based on killing and destruction.

For more than 50 years, Israel has ruled the Occupied Territories. What it did not do and what it did not try - to establish a settlement in response to terror attacks, to demolish houses, to expropriate land;

She arrested tens of thousands of Palestinians, deprived them of their rights. Has she achieved security? The answer is clear – Israel has become the most dangerous place for Jews.

In May 2022, the right-wing government promised to eradicate all terrorist infrastructure, and entered the Jenin refugee camp.

I was there as a journalist. I saw scenes of war and horror, destruction everywhere, weeping and despair. This week the Israeli government – the same Likud government, by the way – promised to eradicate all the armed squads in Jenin, but its main achievement is intensifying hatred, loss of life, and dozens of wounded whose consciousness is etched in their consciousness that Israel is an occupying state.

History everywhere in the world teaches us that wars, killings and destruction will bring no achievement except hatred and a desire for revenge, and that ruling or destroying a people is an impossible task, even if it is the greatest power in the world.

More importantly, history teaches us that there is no substitute for dialogue and respect, and that there is no substitute for peace between peoples.

The most unfortunate thing is that until we reach the point where both peoples will firmly demand a peace agreement from their leaders, and an end to the armed struggle, more blood will be spilled, and more families will enter the cycle of bereavement, pain and loss.

Israel lost a young soldier, the Palestinians counted 12 dead, and more than 100 wounded. Dozens of others were arrested, all on suspicion or on suspicion of involvement in armed activity against Israelis. No one other than the security forces has proof of the involvement of any of these victims or detainees.

Israel sees the information of the security forces as a doctrine from Sinai, but I see it from a different angle, especially when every Palestinian is a terrorist in the eyes of the security forces, and experience has taught us that there are mistakes – and a lot.

Precisely now, when the Palestinian Authority is on the verge of total collapse, and when it is the State of Israel that holds it, transfers money to it and provides it with security assistance and information – this is the opportunity for the people of Israel to begin to rise up against the continuation of the occupation and control over the Palestinian people.

Perhaps this will be an opportunity to bring the Palestinian issue back to the agenda, after it has been marginalized and ceased to interest the Israeli citizen, and after every Israeli politician and leader who talked about the two-state solution has become a kind of leper, a weak left that divides Jerusalem or sells the homeland.

Israel will not get rid of the Palestinians and will not succeed in controlling them, and the Palestinians will not succeed in throwing the Jews into the sea. So it's time for us to sanctify the piece of land where we all live, and to know how we can live, not just how we can die.
