Sisi added, "The current escalation is very dangerous and has implications that could affect the security and stability of the region. Egypt will not allow the elimination of the Palestinian issue at the expense of other elements." His remarks come against the backdrop of Egyptian media reports that Cairo will not allow Gazans to immigrate to the Sinai Peninsula.

As a result, the Arab media reported that Egyptian trucks carrying supplies to the Gaza Strip changed the direction of their movement and left. A few hours later, Jordanian King Abdullah ordered humanitarian aid and medical supplies to be sent to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing in coordination with Egypt.
Yesterday, the Associated Press reported that Egyptian officials had warned their Israeli counterparts about "something big" about to take place in Gaza, but the latter downplayed the assessment.
