The new season begins for the volleyball players of TSV Schongau.

After winning the championship, the team competes in the district league.

There are question marks with the staff.

Schongau – Last May was nothing less than a historic event for the department: for the first time, the TSV Schongau volleyball team won the championship title in the district class.

In Group 2, they kept their nerves on the last day of the game and scored the four points they needed to stay ahead in the long-distance duel with TSG Maisach.

The team took advantage of the right to advance – on Saturday, October 22nd, the women from Schongau will start in the district league West.

The program includes two games in Ingolstadt;

It's against the hosts SG ESV Ingolstadt/TSV Kösching and against SV Esting II. The team from Esting has already played four games and won all four games.

The TSV women are looking forward to the new season with excitement, but there is one drawback.

The blanket of female players is thin.

"Personal and professional changes" in some players are the reason for this, according to team spokeswoman Karin Riedl.

So it will always only be decided at short notice in which occupation the Schongau women can compete.

In any case, the squad includes Nicole Schmitt, Daniela Hübl, Johanna and Katharina Braun, Verena Mettig, Johanna Köhler, Caterina Hack, Ellen Frütel, Patricia Gast, Rosa Kraus, Katharina Schmid and Karin Riedl.

In the past season, the TSV team had personnel problems on various weekends - but in the end they still managed to win the championship.

Each team plays two games per game day.

The season runs until March 11th next year.

The Schongau women complete three home game days.

On Saturday, November 26th, in the gymnasium, it will be against Germering and Obermenzing.
