(ANSA) - LONDON, DECEMBER 17 - Jeremy Corbyn, resigning leader of the British Labor opposition, congratulates Boris Johnson on the conservative victory in the recent elections, in the session that marks the inaugural ceremony of the new House of Commons, but in his reply to the premier the challenge now to "keep his promises", on Brexit and beyond.
Corbyn pays tribute as Johnson, at the opening of intervention, to the victims of the London Bridge terrorist attack, as well as to some unelected deputies, citing in particular Ilveterano Labor and former miner Dennis Skinner. Then, turning to Johnson, he says: "The prime minister has made many, many promises and now he has the responsibility to be at the height". "He - he adds - will be judged by how he will be able to honor these promises from the community to which he made them".
