(ANSA) - ROME - "Oil tourism is finally one of the government's priorities". The president of the National Association of Oil Cities Enrico Lupi thus comments on the approval of the amendment to the Budget Law 2020, through which the substantial equivalence between the activities of oleoturismo and those of enotourism would be realized, allowing the oil producers of benefit from the same incentives as wine producers benefit from.

If the Budget Act 2020 - currently under discussion in the Senate should also pass to the Chamber of Deputies by 31 December, from 1 January 2020 the provisions relating to the activity of wine tourism would also be extended to the activities of oil tourism. For the producers of the Città dell'Olio, Lupi underlines, "the approval of the provisions already in place for wine tourism, represents a great opportunity, a concrete incentive to structure an integrated tourist offer linked also to small productions".

According to the amendment, the "oil tourism" activities are all those of knowledge of olive oil carried out at the place of production, and consist of: visits to places of cultivation, production or display of tools useful for the cultivation of olive; in the tasting and marketing of olive oil company productions, also in combination with other foods; in educational and recreational initiatives in the areas of cultivation and production. Entering into the merit of the amendment, from 1 January 2020, the provisions of art. 1, paragraphs 502 to 505 of Law no. 205 of 2017 (2018 budget law) - related to wine tourism activities also apply to "oil tourism" activities.

The regulation provides for the extension to the agricultural producers who carry out wine tourism activities of the flat-rate determination of the taxable income, for personal income tax purposes, with a profitability coefficient of 25 percent and, under certain conditions, a flat-rate VAT regime.
