Five people were sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia for the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018. The Riad prosecutor announced it. No charges for Saud al Qahtani, a close adviser and former head of social media communication for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. According to investigations conducted by UN experts, there were "credible evidence" of individual responsibilities of the prince and his adviser.
