Disused quarry becomes a 'lake' of waste

(ANSA) - CASERTA, JANUARY 13 - A real waste lake is the one discovered by the firefighters in San Felice aCancello, in the Casertano area, inside a quarry that has been abandoned for years. Bags, lots of plastic, bulky as household appliances, car carcasses, float on the surface, a sign that the basin has been used as an illegal spill; on the muddy bottom that reaches up to four meters deep, where visibility is zero, the sub of the brigade are using the cameras. The lake is located about ten meters below the surface of the quarry. The operation was ordered by the Prosecutor of the Republic of Santa Maria CapuaVetere, who began to investigate, delegating the Metropolitan Police of Naples, following a complaint.
