The Victoires de la Musique announced this Monday evening at the Casino de Paris the list of nominees for their 35th edition, which will take place on February 14 at the Seine Musicale, near Paris. Three artists stand out: Angèle, Alain Souchon and Philippe Katerine with three nominations each, including the queen category of artist of the year.
Clara Luciani and Lomepal come just behind with two quotes. Side revelations - album and concert - the places in the final are quite logically trusted by the girls. There are five of them, Hoshi, Suzane, Pomme, Aloïse Sauvage, Maëlle, for one boy, Malik Djoudi.
For their 35 years, the Victoires de la Musique are making their revolution. There are no longer thirteen, but eight categories. Exit the trophies by genres, rap, electro, rock, song and world music. Only general prizes remain, as male artist, female artist, album, concert, song of the year and audiovisual creation (clip or DVD, the latter three also being subject to public vote, invited to speak this Monday evening and until February 13 on the event website.
A lack of rap, rock and electro artists
If rap - the best-selling music in France - is poorly represented in the nominations - only 5 out of 28 - we can also regret the absence of clearly rock, electro or world music artists in the selection.
“It is fairly representative of the musical year, believes on the contrary Romain Vivien, the new president of Les Victoires, director of the Believe label which produces Jeanne Added, Jul, PNL or Oxmo Puccino. World music artists will now be in the Victoires du jazz. Our objective in narrowing the number of categories was to respond to criticisms and questions from the public and artists who did not always understand these genres. The idea is also to have all the artists named play, which was not the case in the genre categories, where only the winner played. And if we can reduce the duration… ”
More voters and bet parity
On the contrary, the voters were enlarged. This year there were 900 instead of 600. For the first time, voters came from the public. “One hundred women and one hundred men,” explains Romain Vivien. We have between 600 and 700 applications, we selected them on their motivation and then by lot. They are between 14 and 72 years old and come from all departments. The idea is also that our college of voters be more feminine. Today, there are only 10% women. We want to reach 50%. "
Last change of size, this year, it is no longer a host who will manage the evening. They will be eleven, all from France 2, starting with Daphné Bürki, mistress of ceremonies for two years, Sophie Davant, Bruno Guillon, Faustine Bollaert, Marie-Sophie Lacarrau, Stéphane Bern, Laurent Ruquier, Julian Bugier, Michel Drucker, Cyril Feraud and Leïla Kaddour. Parity, this time, is almost respected.
