Anyone who has ever been to an airport with a dog has this familiar problem: Where to take the four-wheeler to meet his needs? Now, Helsinki Airport in Finland offers a proper solution.
Finavia, which operates Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport, has set up two "animal services" rooms, one of which is in the Departure Hall and the other - in another area of the terminal. The company spokeswoman said this was done in response to requests from travelers traveling with animals and wanted to know where they could provide this basic comfort.
"Compounds where animals can meet their needs are considered rare in Northern European airports," the company spokesman noted.
However, it turns out that the idea is not new. For example, this is a necessity in the United States, due to the fact that many practice flying with so-called "service animals" (animals used to support various emotional needs and as part of emotional care). In addition, these service complexes also serve as guide dogs.
Each year, more than 10,000 dogs pass through their owners at Helsinki Airport.
