A 40-year-old woman was beheaded on Wednesday in front of her two children in a farm in the Dos Hermanas site, in the north of the province of Misiones, by a man with whom she argued and who, after completing the femicide, fled for a mountain.
The incident occurred around noon and the victim was identified by investigators as Sonia Cerpa (40), who was found murdered in her house located at kilometer 75 of provincial route 18, about 280 kilometers northeast of the city of Posadas .
Police sources informed Télam that it all started when a man arrived at the house and asked to speak with Cerpa.
However, at that moment a strong discussion arose after which the man extracted a gun with which he tried to kill the woman.
Police sources said the shot did not come out , but the attacker grabbed a knife and caused a cut in the neck of Cerpa, who was seriously injured.
The episode was witnessed by the two youngest children of the woman who, seeing what was happening, ran away and fled along paths of a nearby mountain known as Laguna Azul, until they reached the house of an uncle, where they asked for help.
The police who were alerted interviewed the daughter of the woman, 7 years old, who told them that the aggressor was an acquaintance nicknamed "Cuerero" and that after attacking his mother, they saw him escape.
Investigators who arrived at the victim's house discovered the body of the woman, who remained on her back with a deep cut in the neck.
Meanwhile, the police of the Regional Unit 12 carried out this afternoon an intense search operation for the suspect, who was still a fugitive.
In the last ten years in Argentina there is an average of one femicide every 30 hours. According to statistics from the Office of Domestic Violence of the Supreme Court, only in 2018 were 278. Most of the murders occur in the homes of the victims and are committed by couples or ex.
