(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 25 - The Catalan authorities have confirmed the first case of coronavirus in Barcelona, pointing out that it is a 36-year-old Italian woman residing in Spain. The Spanish media reported that the woman who had just entered from a trip to Italy between Bergamo and Milan yesterday went to the Catalan hospital with some symptoms.
This is the fourth case of Covid-19 confirmed in Spain after the two reported in the Canary Islands and one in Mallorca, all foreigners. The health protocol has been activated for the man who, residing in Barcelona, had traveled in the last few days in northern Italy. The National Center for Microbiology will perform the second confirmation test in the next few hours.
