(ANSA) - BOLOGNA, MARCH 05 - The first civil section of the Bologna court decided that the Municipality of Bologna respected the wishes of Maria Teresa Morandi, sister of Giorgio Morandi, when the brother's collection of works was transferred to the Mambo museum in 2012, during the first mandate of the mayor Virginio Merola. The questions proposed in the first instance civil case were therefore rejected by the lawyer Elisabetta Brunelli and by the 'Committee for the restoration of the Morandi Museum in Palazzod'Accursio'.
The sentence, reports a note from the administration, "recognizes the correctness of the work of the Municipality of Bolognas on the basis that in the 1991 donation act, Ms Morandi 'kept the purpose of the donation distinct on one side and the regulatory clauses from the 'other'".
For the court, the creation of a specific section within the Mambo, dedicated to the works of the great artistabolognese, respects these wishes, taking into account that CarloZucchini (nominated by the sister guardian of these obligations) also shared the choice of the Municipality. The ruling underlines that ilMambo is a "prestigious location in a place easily reachable even on foot and within the city walls". (HANDLE).
