1. The Smiths / The Queen Is Dead
Basically, Morrissey is one of the great drafters of the loneliness experience. The man lives and moves around a world where he has hundreds of thousands of fans, but feels like he is the only soul on this ball. Add to that Johnny Marr's guitar and here's a little consolation knowing that even out of isolation people feel disconnected. But not everything is lost. If you hold on throughout the album, towards the end you will discover a little ray of light that always lights and directs you in the dark.
2. Miles Davis / Kind of Blue
Beyond the fact that this is a masterpiece about a time that has not lost its power over the years, the power of this album to envelop the soul, warm the living space, send a voyage of consciousness, release tensions and discover depths. If you know it - it's probably on your regular playlist, and if not - here's a great opportunity to complete gaps.
3. Stevie Wonder / Innervisions
This album has the power to dance even the toughest people. His grove is contagious, his atmosphere is sexy, he is approachable, pleasant, intriguing, colorful and fun in the purest and simplest way possible. In the second week of isolation, when the fabric is already really distressing, pick up the volume, kick in the chair and put Higher Ground on Ripit. There is no virus in the world that survives this.
4. Margalit Tzarit / The boys return to me
Let's assume for a moment that this is a monumental debut album that has taken spy from the wedding halls to the big stages. Even without this fact, the songs will allow you to take you on a journey on time. Although it is almost an exaggerated series of wide shells, Cernan's voice and her rough vocals are almost like getting Mama a pleasant caress. Even Julio Iglesias is hurting here and giving another romantic hue to the business.
5. Radiohead / OK Computer
It doesn't matter if you were drifting to a solitary island, taking a huge trip after the military, trying a crazy adventure around the world or sitting on your porch with a cup of coffee and reflection, this album is a must. There will be moments when Tom York's singing and the brilliant soundscapes of Radiohead will be your closest friends and the only solace in the world.
6. Beloved helper / bell ringer
She wasn't the greatest singer, but her voice wasn't the point. The thing is intention and heart. This comeback album brought back to Israeli music one of the most exciting, fertile, generous, humorous and sincere musicians it has ever been. There are songs here that remind every listener what it is to be human, and crush the heart for the early departure of aides.
7. Dr. Dre / The Chronic
It's very clear that you can't go into isolation without a hip-hop album, but it's almost impossible to pick just one. If the virus is already here and the risk of infection becomes palpable, I'm going with this Dr. Dre's album. You hurt her directness and sharpness, but it's very clear that all this mess with the Corona is Nuthin 'but a' G 'Thang.
8. Arkin Readers / Electronics Door Students
The decision on psychedelia representation in isolation can very quickly turn out to be a very dramatic decision. Going for the western options is too easy and too plowing. The solution: Turkey. Arkin's Anatolian Rock is an invitation to widen consciousness in the seam between Asia and Europe, between East and West, between traditional and new. If you think Turkish music is depression and that's it - take this recommendation seriously
9. Ehud Banai and the refugees
This house is an elusive concept. It is not defined only by the physical walls that surround us or the furniture we choose to place inside. Home is a complex of feelings, memories, feelings, smells, customs, voices and other abstract concepts. A home is a place that feels comfortable and natural, it is warm and inviting and should not be strained. This is this album by Ehud Banai and the refugees, to which I return when I miss home.
10. Nick Kyiv and the Sid Sides / No More Shall We Part
The mix of feelings that isolation brings to me is a bizarre mix of despair and solace, of looking in and of insights that are forming, of closed ends that are re-floating and seeking closure, of tenderness and difficulty. There is all this in this masterpiece, and much more than that. Kiev, one of the greatest storytellers of the generation and a gifted writer, pours his heart here and reveals himself in depth. Even if you are alone in the room, you will probably soon see a true friend.
