2020-03-06T18:28:38.893Z

After the merger, operational since 2017, Wind and Tre also unify the brand, for a network "ready for 5g" and for which investments "for € 6 billion" in a five-year period are confirmed. To announce the birth of the unique brand, Windtre, is the managing director Jeffrey Hedberg. "Thanks to the modernization process, our '5g ready' network will be extended nationally by the first quarter of 2021 and we are very excited about it," said the CEO, underlining how the company is carrying out experiments in L'Aquila and Meadow. The novelty comes at a critical moment. "In this period of great uncertainty, as a team we have a crucial role in making high-quality connectivity available to our customers, both today and in the future development of the country," says the American Hedberg. And the reference goes to the Coronavirus epidemic, which it does not hide, "is casting a shadow over our homes, offices, hospitals and even playgrounds". But he assures "we are strengthening all measures". On the other hand, the TLCs have a peculiar business in this situation. "We feel a great sense of responsibility, at this moment it is important that the Italians have large telecommunications networks, in order to be informed real time and to be in contact with the authorities and with each other", highlights the commercial director Gianluca Corti, remarking how the company in the red areas provided free jig. And now, as early as next week, all over Italy is getting ready "to open new stores" to serve "about 30 million customers". With 20 thousand transmission sites, the Windtre network defines itself as "the largest mobile network in Italy both as traffic managed and as access capacity". Which will allow, the company explains, to "rapidly implement the fifth generation network standard". Having said that, as pointed out by the CEO, "our business continues to be in 3g and 4g, technologies that provide all voice and data services to consumer and business customers, but we see, with 5g, a great opportunity to look to the future. ". A challenge for the company already engaged in a phase of testing on the territory, with public-private partnerships for applications that range from agriculture to health, passing through education and safety. "This work is to make sure that what we're doing really has a positive impact on our customers," says Hedberg.
