The last time they saw her alive was on April 5, when she asked a neighbor from the Punilla Valley, in Córdoba, for a glass of water. Twenty days later, and after a distressing search, they found the body of Cecilia Gisela Basaldúa (35) in the vicinity of the Cordovan town of Capilla del Monte.
The body was found on Saturday evening and this Sunday the identity of the victim was confirmed. Now, the prosecutor Jorgelina Gómez is trying to determine the cause of Cecilia's death and whether it was a femicide.
That April 5, when she disappeared, Cecilia had also been seen in the area called Tres Puentes , some 110 kilometers from the capital of Córdoba.

The woman was from the City of Buenos Aires and had traveled to Córdoba before the coronavirus quarantine was decreed to write a book about her last trip to Latin America.
Therefore, some of Cecilia's belongings were found in the man's house where she was staying, and others in the Tres Puentes area.
"The only thing that was not found is the fanny pack with documents, " his brother, Guillermo, said at the time in radio statements.
During the last week, the Cosquín investigative prosecutor's office had ordered to expand the working radius with more rakes to try to find the whereabouts of Cecilia, which spread in six communities in the town of Charbonier.

"Surveys were also made through the National Directorate of Migrations together with the National Commission for Transport Regulation, in order to determine if the woman had traveled," added the sources, although without positive results.
As part of the investigation, raids were also carried out simultaneously in two properties where Cecilia could have been, but no evidence was found either.
It was also not detected in any preventive control due to social, preventive and compulsory isolation in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.
