After a meeting of the EFL board, the club captains and representatives of the PFA (the footballers' representative body) were told to communicate to their teammates the real possibility that football will not restart. The problems related to the high number of tests for coronavirus that the players should undergo until the end of the season make the needle tip towards the suspension of calcium. Furthermore, the players were informed that, with regard to the verdicts, the solution of the 'sporting merit' of the teams could be applied. Many clubs, however, believe that if possible, the ancient promotion and demotion system should not be interfered with. PFA representatives asked the players to vote if they think it is acceptable to stop and if they would be willing to do so.
