The disenchanted flute. Four months after the indictment of Loïc Le Cotillec, new elements come to clarify the way in which this young prodigy of traditional Breton music was able to twist. The Parisian investigated the case and revealed the shadows on the descent into hell of the "Breton Mozart".

Placed in pre-trial detention on October 25, 2019, Loïc Le Cotillec is accused of having raped and harassed three women. This extremely serious observation would be the fruit of a meteoric rise very badly experienced by the young man. Appointed chief bell ringer of the Auray bagad at 18 and quickly described as one of the earliest virtuosos of his kind, Loïc would have fallen into an infernal spiral.
“The gestures I had with these girls, I didn't mean them badly. I never thought of raping them. I have never premeditated my actions, ” said Loïc Le Cotillec in remarks reported by Le Parisien . “I had to be mature at 17 to manage the bagad, but I didn't understand the meaning of the words. Alcohol, this drug, stripped me of all morality, ” he said.
Drunkenness, violence and coercion
The first complaint filed comes from a girl belonging to the Auray bagad. “Loïc is young, but he is the chef. When he starts to speak, everyone listens to him [….] I realized that he had a slightly different relationship with the other, but often very gifted musicians are less accessible humanely, ” reveals- she to the investigators.
It was during an evening a little sprinkled between the two that the young man would have gone too far, taking advantage of the state of his victim. After which, he allegedly violently forced her to various sexual practices. “He held me very tightly by the hair. I felt like I had no choice, that if I continued to resist it could hurt me even more. ”
The second complainant is one of her former conquests, recrossed during an interceltic festival. One evening, he joins her while she sleeps in her car. "He took me by the neck, pressed my head against the lowered seat, and slipped his other hand into my pants before putting my fingers inside my cock. I could barely breathe, ”said the 23-year-old young woman at the time of the incident.
The last complaint dates back to a few weeks before the arrest of Loïc Le Cotillec. A girl with whom he was flirting, and who had agreed to come and sleep with him. Indisposed, she had refused any relationship, until Loïc did not "break up" . “He had his eyes open, an aggressive head. He said to me: "No, but that's okay, get on all fours" . He was more and more violent in terms of his strength. He held me by the neck to block me and relaxed to put me in the position he wanted, "she says, acknowledging that he was in love with him.
"I don't know the codes"
According to Me Sahand Saber, his lawyer, Loïc Le Cotillec, was the victim of his responsibilities and the pressure that ensued. "Those who entrusted such a prestigious orchestra to a young person just out of adolescence, it was a prodigy, took a decision full of inconsistency" , considers the council.
This observation echoes that drawn up by Loïc himself: “I took on responsibilities too early. I went straight into the adult world and it hurt me. I don't know the codes. I slept with very few women in my life in a serious way , " defends the musician assuring that it is difficult to " decode the girls " .
For the moment, Loïc Le Cotillec is still in detention and must be heard by the investigating judge after the hearing has been postponed due to the epidemic of Coronavirus.
