On the fifth day of deconfinement, the general direction of Health announces that 2203 patients of Covid-19 are still in intensive care

On the fifth day of deconfinement in France, the general direction of health drew up this Friday a new assessment of the epidemic of coronavirus in France.

Since the start of the epidemic, 27,529 people have lost their lives in France after contracting the virus, announces the DGS, which specifies that 17,342 patients died in hospital and 10,187 patients died in medico-social establishments, including nursing homes. The DGS announces 104 more deaths in 24 hours linked to Covid-19 in France.

2203 resuscitation patients

On the resuscitation front, the DGS announces that 64 new patients have been admitted to these specialized services in the past 24 hours. The patient balance, which takes into account discharges, remains negative, in line with the trend observed in recent weeks, with 96 fewer patients since Thursday. To date, 2,203 patients remain in the intensive care unit.

However, these resuscitations represent only a minority of patients in hospital, since 19,861 patients are still hospitalized for contamination with Covid-19. Note that 438 new admissions have been recorded in the past 24 hours. Since the beginning of March, French hospitals have received 98,192 patients and 60,448 of them have been able to return to their homes.
