Apple will reopen tomorrow ten of the 17 Apple Stores in Italy. Those in Lombardy and Piedmont will remain closed. During the week, the shutters will also rise in 25 other US and 12 Canadian stores, bringing the overall reopenings to around a hundred. The Cupertino company had announced the closure of all its stores in the world, excluding those in China, on March 13th, due to the health emergency.

In a note to customers, Apple's vice president of retail and human resources, Deirdre O'Brien, ensured that each reopening was weighted: "We review all available data, including local cases, short and long term trends and guidelines from national and local health officials. These are not decisions we rush into - he highlighted - and opening a shop in no way means that we will not close it again if local conditions justify it. " In Italy the stores in Via Rizzoli in Bologna, I Gigli and piazza della Repubblica in Florence, Porta di Roma, Euroma2 and RomaEst in the capital, Nave de Vero in Mestre, Le Befane in Rimini and the stores in Marcianise (Caserta) will be accessible tomorrow ) and Misterbianco (Catania).

"We are proud to be alongside our Italian customers who are beginning to emerge from this incredibly difficult time," said an Apple spokesman. "Our newly reopened stores will have important safety procedures, including temperature controls, social distancing and face masks to ensure that customers and employees continue to stay healthy. Our thoughts - he added - go to all those who they have been affected by Covid-19 and those who work 24 hours a day to treat, study and contain their spread. "
