Bruno Duboc no longer dared to open his windows. Since mid-April, right outside his house, there was this old van stolen and used by crack users.

Punctured tires, broken windows, and a completely ravaged interior, this car has become the gathering place for drug addicts. Since the evacuation of "crack hill" and the Porte d'Aubervilliers camp in November and January, crack addicts are increasingly visible on the streets of the 18th arrondissement.

"It's a nightmare" explains Bruno, who has lived on rue Gaston Darboux in the 18th arrondissement for 63 years. “I experienced a double confinement: I could not go out, and I could not open my windows, I was afraid for my 15 year old son whose bedroom overlooks the street. The same goes for Riad, who when he walks with his 3 and a half year old son changes his itinerary so as not to pass the "mobile crack".

Local residents mobilized Local residents have increased their appeal to the town hall and the prefecture to move the vehicle, which was also used as a pass hotel. Rudee Kane, Bruno's neighbor took control, he regrets having seen his requests go unanswered: "It is symptomatic of sensitive neighborhoods, we are abandoned".

A resident of rue Gaston Darboux wrote this message on the van / LP / Claire Duhamel

Annoyed by the lack of responses from the 18th century town hall, a local resident even decided to write messages on the van with the black marker. "So that the problem becomes so visible that we can no longer ignore it," he says.
