Protest marches for the death in Minneapolis of George Floyd and under the banner of the anti-racist slogan #BlackLivesMatter continue throughout the world. Today there was one in Watford, a town of 79,000 inhabitants about 34 km from London where the current heavyweight world champion (and Olympic gold in 2012) Anthony Joshua was born. And it was Joshua who marched with the protesters, wearing the black sweatshirt and Tommie Smith black gloves, and with a brace on his left knee because of an injury. In order to march he therefore had to help with a scooter or crutches. "He wanted to be there at all costs," explained a source close to the boxer.
As for the future, Joshua must defend the Wba, Ibf and Wbo titles against the official challenger Kubrat Pulev, 39 year old Bulgarian former European champion, but the date and location of the match are still to be determined due to the stop to the activity caused by the coronavirus.
