After several days without communication from the Directorate General of Health, a new report was published on Monday. We thus deplore 27 new deaths linked to the Covid-19 epidemic which have occurred since Thursday in French hospitals. A total of 29,920 since the start of the epidemic.
These figures do not take into account the latest deaths in nursing homes and medical and social centers, the next update of which will be carried out on July 7. Last Tuesday, in its weekly report, the DGS listed 10,497 deaths linked to the coronavirus in these social and medico-social establishments.
548 patients in intensive care
On the hospitalization front, 7,850 people are currently being cared for in French establishments. In the past 24 hours, 98 new patients have been admitted. Among the hospitalized patients, 548 present a serious form of the disease which requires care in the intensive care units. 10 new serious cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours.
The balance, which takes account of discharges, remains negative over the same period of time, with 25 fewer serious patients. Since the start of the epidemic, 105,048 people have been hospitalized, including 18,413 in intensive care, 77,319 people have returned home.
The new coronavirus has killed at least 535,027 people worldwide since late December.
