(ANSA) - ROME, JULY 15 - In 2019, 2,505 million workers are foreigners, 10.7% of the total. This is what is obtained from the annual report of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies.
The sectors with the most foreign workers are Other collective and personal services (642 thousand), Industry in the strict sense (466 thousand), Hotels and restaurants (263 thousand), Commerce (260 thousand) and Construction (235 thousand); the highest incidences recorded in Other collective and personal services (36% of employees), Agriculture (18.3%), Hotels and restaurants (17.7%) and Construction (17.6%). The employment rate among non-EU citizens is 60.1% (stable compared to 2018), among EU citizens it is 62.8% (down, -0.7%), both data exceeding 58.8% (increase, + 0.6%) registered among Italians. The unemployment rate increases among EU citizens (14.0%, +0.5 trail points 2018 and 2019), while it is decreasing among non-EU countries (13.8%, - 0.5%) and among Italians ( 9.5%, -0.7%). The inactivity rate of foreigners (extra EU 30.2%, EU 26.9%) is confirmed lower than that of Italians (34.9%). (HANDLE).
