The Buenos Aires vice minister of Health, Nicolás Kreplak, left a strong warning about the coronavirus situation: "If the number of infections does not change, the health system will end up collapsing."

" We are at the worst moment of the epidemic in our country.  It is dangerous when the guard is lowered. We are at a time of great stress in the health system," said the official in dialogue with A24.

Kreplak reported that the occupation of intensive care for adults is 60% in the Buenos Aires area, but that it has been increasing substantially in the last ten days. Likewise, he maintained that the amount of income is greater than that of expenses.

"It is possible that the number of beds available in the GBA will be occupied , and that is the scenario that we do not want to see," he warned.

In this sense, Kreplak analyzed that the path is not to end the epidemic when it is noticed that there is no access to the health system and, therefore, quarantine is beginning to be respected.

"We want to avoid that from happening because it is not good to resolve the conflict out of fear," he said.

According to the morning part of this Monday, the total number of confirmed cases in Argentina is 162,526 (49.2% women and 50.8% men) and at the moment the number of deceased is 2,956. In the Province of Buenos Aires, the number of infections is 94,877.

On the other hand, the official referred to the controversy of the mayor of José C. Paz,Mario Ishii, who had alluded to the sale of "falopa" in the ambulances of that Buenos Aires district.

"I understand that he explained what had happened, that he clarified it and is at the disposal of the Justice; I do not think he is referring to the sale of drugs," concluded the vice minister of Health, justifying the expression.
