Wine: heroic viticulture of the island is celebrated in Pantelleria

PALERMO - The program of events that celebrates the wines resulting from the heroic viticulture of the island of the sun and wind has started in Pantelleria. The initiative desired by the Consortium for the protection and promotion of Pantelleria Doc wines includes tours of the cellars and dinners-tastings at the restaurants of the island, from August to September. Furthermore, from 17 to 22 August, the Pantelleria Doc Festival will take place, dedicated to the discovery of producers and their wines obtained from the cultivation of the Zibibbo tree, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

The festival includes a visit to the 18 wineries and vineyards in the most fascinating places, from traditional agricultural districts to those overlooking Lake Venus or the sea, up to those found in archaeological areas. The visits are always followed by tastings of Pantelleria Doc wines, from white wines to sparkling wines, from sparkling wines to muscat and raisin wines.
