A very hot summer in Paris

In Île-de-France, the record for the highest temperature ever recorded during the month of August was broken Sunday in Villaines, in Val-d'Oise (39.2 ° C against 38.8 ° C on August 12, 2003) and equaled the same day in Creil, in the Oise, with 39.1 ° C.

In Paris, this heatwave did not give rise to such flights on the side of the famous weather station of Montsouris. As Météo France underlines, however, the past week allows the 2020 season - from June 1 to August 31 - to climb on the podium of the summers during which the 35 ° C was most often reached or even exceeded (7 days). . Only the summers of 1911 (9 days) and 2003 (10 days) are ahead of the 2020 vintage. For the moment.

With 36.8 ° C of provisional max T ° on Tuesday, August 11, on this station, the figure now climbs to 7 days.

According to Météo France forecasts, Wednesday, although marked by stormy degradation, will once again be very hot. Temperatures ranging from 33 to 36 ° C are expected from Provence to Hauts-de-France via the North-East. This Tuesday evening, 15 departments in the north of the country were still in heat wave red vigilance and 51 departments in the South-West in the North-East remained in orange vigilance.
