Almost a year ago the official concubine of the Thai king was revoked - supposedly because she wanted to become queen herself. Now she has got her title back.

Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn has pardoned his beloved, who was cast out last autumn.

The 35-year-old Sineenat "Koi" Wongvajirapakdi had been awarded all royal and military titles, according to the "Royal Gazette".

Official notices are published in the gazette.

Last year, Sineenat Wongvajirapakdi was practically the second wife next to Queen Suthida for a few months and even carried the title Chao Khun Phra, which means royal-noble wife in German.

In October the regent suddenly demoted her.

Reason: You have violated the will of the king and was disloyal to the monarchy.

Thailand has the toughest libel law in the world: anyone who insults the monarch or his court risks up to 15 years in prison.

The official concubine is also said to have been imprisoned after her violation.

The royal family has never confirmed this.

She has not been seen in public since then.

Beloved is said to have been brought to Bavaria

The background was supposedly that she wanted to become queen herself.

It was said that she caused "confusion" in the palace and among the people.

Why the concubine is now suddenly again in royal grace was not explained in detail.

At the weekend there were unconfirmed reports that Sineenat Wongvajirapakdi had been released from custody and brought to Bavaria.

That is where the king lives most of the time.

The 68-year-old Maha Vajiralongkorn - also Rama X. - owns a villa on Lake Starnberg, but is said to have moved with his entourage to a luxury hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen during the corona crisis.

Like Queen Suthida, Sineenat Wongvajirapakd had worked as a bodyguard for the current king and was a major general.

When he made her official concubine in July 2019, the royal family published dozens of photos.

Maha Vajiralongkorn is married for the fourth time.

He officially has seven children from previous relationships.

He married Queen Suthida only a few days before his coronation in May 2019.

Since his accession to the throne, Maha Vajiralongkorn has left no doubt about his will to power.

For months, however, there have been repeated protests in Bangkok against the government and also against the king.

The young Thais have little understanding for a regent who hardly spends time in his home country during the corona crisis.

They are calling for changes in the law, including that of the king.

This was previously considered a taboo in the Southeast Asian country.
