: in the last 24 hours there were at least 338,779 infections in the world, the highest level ever recorded since the beginning of the pandemic: the World Health Organization (WHO) reports it on its website .

The previous daily record was recorded on 2 October with 330,340 infections.

Also in the last 24 hours, the deaths in the world have been 5,514.

    For the second consecutive day,

France

records a number of new infected in 24 hours in excess of 18,000 cases of coronavirus, according to data from Santé Publique.

The new positives were 18,129 yesterday, a bit below Wednesday's 18,746.

Since yesterday, 76 new deaths have been recorded, for a total number of victims of 32,521 since the beginning of the epidemic.

The number of patients in resuscitation increased by 11 (1,427), while those in hospital for coronavirus (7,624) increased by 88.

"The situation is worsening in several of our cities, as well as in other countries close to France," said Health Minister Oliviér Véran.

The minister announced that four cities - Lille, Grenoble, Lyon and Saint-Etienne - are in areas of "maximum alert" such as Paris and Marseille-Aix en Provence.

In Dijon and Clermont-Ferrand, worrying signs are emerging and the two cities go from alert to reinforced alert.

For his part, the French Minister of Economy, Bruno Le Maire, said that the government has "decided to expand and strengthen the solidarity fund" for companies suffering from the crisis caused by the coronavirus.

Le Maire recalled that until now the solidarity fund was intended for companies with up to 20 employees.

"The goal - he specified - was to support smaller and independent companies".

"Now we will extend this aid to all companies up to 50 employees", added the minister, specifying that to be able to benefit from it, one must be bankrupt or have lost 70% of turnover against the 80% expected so far.

France is one of the countries for which the mandatory tampon is required upon arrival in Italy.

The list - which also includes Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Czech Republic and Spain - was updated by the ordinance signed yesterday Wednesday by the Minister of Health and published yesterday in the Official Journal.

    Meanwhile,

Germany

records a record of coronavirus cases for the second consecutive day: over 4,000 new infections were reported on Wednesday, never so many since 11 April, when the country was still in lockdown.

It had been 2,898 the previous day.
