The police in Leipzig are preparing for a major operation on Saturday.
The authority expects a demonstration on the order of November 21, as the authority said on Friday.
There are numerous calls for protest, including from the spectrum of corona skeptics.
"There is a lot of advertising, there is a lot of sharing on the Internet," said a police spokesman.
The organizers did not register the demonstration in due time and therefore received no approval.
According to the general decree, only those events are allowed in Leipzig that have been announced by December 17th at 12 noon.
Several counter-demonstrations with around 1000 participants are to take place.
At the end of November, Corona skeptics and counter-demonstrators demonstrated in Leipzig.
There were numerous riots.
"Something like that is actually possible again tomorrow," said the police spokesman.
In addition to securing the freedom of assembly, infection protection is the focus of the police.
Helicopters, water cannons and police officers in action
The police department in Leipzig asked for reinforcements from other federal states and from the federal police.
Police helicopters, water cannons and the mounted police should also be used.
Leipzig hit the headlines nationwide on November 7th after a "lateral thinking" demonstration got out of hand.
Around 20,000 people protested peacefully, but did not adhere to the applicable hygiene requirements for corona prevention.
The city of Leipzig broke up the protest because many participants did not wear a mouth and nose cover and did not keep the minimum distance.
Thousands resisted and marched across the inner city ring.
The security forces were then accused of failure.
