In just a few minutes of walking in front of the Royal Monceau, palace of the eighth arrondissement of Paris, the new Miss France is already creating a crowd this Sunday.

Arrival in the night of Puy du Fou (Vendée), where she was elected on Saturday, Amandine Petit, 23-year-old Normande, goes on photo sessions and interviews.

She tells us her first impressions.

How do you feel ?

AMANDINE PETIT.

How could I be better than in this sublime suite in a magnificent Parisian palace?

Since I won this crown, I go from surprise to surprise… And it's wonderful!

How did you experience the day on Saturday?

As surprising as it may sound, I was not stressed at all.

And no candidate transmitted bad vibes, even though we all had more complicated moments, like when we realized that there would be no audience.

In rehearsal, we had made our mark with the hall, with the steps on the stage and even more with our Miss France shoes.

It's the perfect trio of challenges for D-Day.

Who is Amandine Petit, Miss Normandy who became Miss France 2021?

You got there, you even danced on stage during the commercial breaks ...

As there was no audience, we had to transmit our own energy to each other, especially by making our battle cry.

There were three singers in the group and they really relaxed us.

You had prepared a lot to be elected, after your first participation in 2015 ...

I trained a lot in make-up, I had little tips from Arnaud Sol Dourdin, the president of the Normandy jury

(Editor's note: official makeup artist of Miss France)

, I followed Sylvie Tellier's live, I played sports two to three times a week.

Eric Delaunay, an athlete, candidate for the Olympic Games next year in ball trap, helped me manage stress and enjoy the moments, even if they are anxiety-provoking.

If I am in front of you and I speak with such ease, it is because I have been carried by so many people and all this audience that has given me strength.

I also met Malika Ménard

(Editor's note: Miss Normandy 2009, Miss France 2010)

, who motivated me to introduce myself because she felt something extra about me.

She had never pushed someone before me and never did it again.

She put my foot in the stirrup and told me my face on TV was looking good.

And that we cannot know until election night.

What did you feel during the last face-to-face with Miss Provence, April Benayoum?

I crushed her hands and told her she had been beautiful.

The heart speaks for itself but the brain no longer registers.

It's a kind of trance, of excitement ... Even before knowing that Miss Normandy was elected, I was already in tears.

She was the victim of anti-Semitic remarks ...

It is extremely unpleasant and unwelcome.

Anti-Semitism is not the order of the day and even less so in a beauty contest.

She had quite her place.

In 2020, such comments should not exist.

I'll try to call her because she needs support.

She is first runner-up and deserves her place.

Criticism is easy, taking part in this show is much more complicated.

It also raises the question of social media management ...

I have been criticized as Miss Normandy.

The Frenchman always has something to complain about, I am found to be too thin, too smiling, but I challenge anyone to smile for two hours in a row by looking so natural from start to finish.

As for those who think that I am not eating enough, I invite them to pay me the restaurant.

When they have to touch their ELP to pay the bill, with everything I eat, that will serve as a lesson to them.

Since the Miss France preparation, I have not taken a gram while we ate extremely well at the Trianon Palace in Versailles.

I could eat 5 McDonalds in a row, it would be the same thing!

How do you see what happens?

I can not foresee anything, I will let myself go and keep my frankness.

I want to break the stereotype of the blonde with blue eyes… I also have a somewhat rocky voice and use local expressions well from home.

I am not a fool.

I got 14.5 on my general knowledge test.

Even if I'm not going to claim it, it proves that you should never stop at the physical.
