Operation "Give a shoulder": Populations confined to the pavilion will not be able to receive a vaccine against Corona at this time - Israel Today has learned.

Clalit Health Services' director general,

Prof. Ehud Dodson, confirmed this to Israel Today and said: "No one in the State of Israel still knows how to vaccinate people who are confined to their homes in Corona.

The vaccines are sensitive to shaking and there is no solution yet and the state is looking for a solution together with Pfizer that will confirm the extent to which shaking can be done. "It should be noted that during the flight of vaccines to Israel a special device was used to prevent shaking of vaccine doses.

At the same time, there are irregularities and difficulties in the Ministry of Health monitoring the age of those vaccinated against the virus.

The Ministry of Health confirmed that at present they do not know how to characterize the age of the vaccinated and some of them are over 80 years old.

The chairman of the Meretz faction, MK Tamar Zandberg, sent a letter to Health Minister Yuli Edelstein and Minister of Social Equality Merav Cohen, demanding that the problem of vaccines for the elderly population in Israel be resolved as soon as possible and provide them with appointments within two weeks.

The letter reads: "It is not possible that the population at the highest risk level, abandoned during the management of the outbreak, which suffered and suffers most from the consequences of the corona virus, both health and mental - will be abandoned even when vaccinated from insensitivity and attention to special needs."

The letter, signed by MKs Ayman Odeh, Orna Barbibai and Ofer Kasif, also stated that "a situation in which the amount of vaccines distributed among the health funds in a way that does not take into account the percentage of older insured is unacceptable. We call for the priority of the older population in the vaccination campaign, while ensuring a fast queue system that will provide available appointments for two weeks from the date of the appointment, and make sure that the vaccination campaign focuses on the first weeks in the 80s and older. ".

We further noted that "it is not possible that the population abandoned during the management of the outbreak of the plague, which suffered and suffers most from the consequences of the corona virus, both health and mental, will also be abandoned while giving the vaccines insensitivity and attention to their special needs. "To prioritize the elderly population in the vaccination campaign, while ensuring a fast appointment system that will provide available appointments for two weeks from the date of the appointment, and to ensure that the vaccination campaign focuses on the first weeks in the eighties and up."

The Ministry of Health confirmed that they do not have data on the extent of vaccinators among the various age groups.

Earlier this week: Dozens of new vaccine centers

"We had several tens of thousands of people invited to February and March and we are all ahead of January. Now that we know how many complexes we will open and how many vaccines we will receive, we will proactively call people and return the date to January," he said. So says Prof. Dodson.

Clalit are preparing to greatly expand their corona vaccine campaign and will open 80 to 100 vaccine complexes on Sunday.

This week they managed to vaccinate 25-30 thousand people.

"It sounds like a military operation and war, only that our enemy is the virus," says Prof. Dodson. "Clalit insures over two-thirds of all senior citizens in the State of Israel. We are getting huge numbers for these days, which we will reach with the help of hundreds of nurses. "

In recent days, there have been complaints about difficulties in obtaining appointments at Clalit and the congestion at the vaccination complexes there.

According to Prof. Dodson, "We have about 280,000 insured persons aged 75 and over. We decided to call them directly and make an appointment for them to be vaccinated proactively."

He added that vaccination of people who arrive without an appointment has been stopped: "It is not good and wrong for those who ordered an orderly appointment. We announced that we will stop vaccinating without an appointment and it calmed down throughout the day. People understood that they should stop coming without an appointment
