The kangaroo was seen by the side of the road by a motorist who shared several photos on social media.

He swears it's not a hoax.

This Sunday noon, in Dordogne, a motorist was surprised to see a kangaroo roaming free by the side of the road, we learn in Southwest.

"If someone has lost their kangaroo, they are on the road between Nontron and Lussas-et-Nontronneau…" jokes Mickaël on Facebook, supporting photos.

“I saw him around 12:30 pm.

He was not very wild, ”recalls the Internet user from the Parisian.

If someone has lost his kangaroo 🦘, he is on the road between Nontron and Lussas and Nontronneau ... Yes yes, a kangaroo 🤩😮 Be careful, police and town hall warned.

The animal seemed to be frolicking without fearing the arrival of the motorist.

“I parked on the other side of the road, 2.3 meters away.

He didn't seem worried.

He stopped a bit, then he continued along the road, ”says Mickaël, who admits that he was not afraid on his side.

“I stayed away anyway.

It only lasted about thirty seconds but it was very nice, ”he comments.

The kangaroo escaped from a farm

The Dordognais also warned the town hall and the gendarmes.

“The gendarme made me repeat the word kangaroo.

I think he thought it was a hoax at first, ”he jokes.

According to Sud-Ouest, the animal would come from a breeding located in the town of Saint-Martial-de-Valette.

This is not the first time that a kangaroo in freedom has been seen in France.

At the beginning of December, the Lot authorities had launched an operation to capture a kangaroo which had escaped, during the summer, from a breeding in the south of the department, told France Bleu Lot.

After its capture, it was precisely planned to transfer the animal to a zoo in the Dordogne.
