"Let no one here doubt, the role of the State, more than ever in a period of crisis, is to be at the side of those who suffer, of those who feel excluded, of those who feel themselves victims of inequalities of all kinds.
We have come to provide them with concrete answers ”, assured the Prime Minister at the end of an interministerial committee of the city.
In Grigny, the poorest town in France according to the Observatory of Inequalities, where 45% of the population lives below the poverty line, Mr. Castex recalled his promise to target 1% - or one billion euros - of the plan stimulus to priority neighborhoods. The other measures announced by the executive are an additional envelope of two billion euros for the National Agency for Urban Renovation (ANRU), the creation of 7 new republican reconquest districts (QRR) and the release of "6 million additional euros ”for the recruitment in the summer of 2021 of“ 300 mediators and 300 specialist educators ”in the neighborhoods. The head of government also confirmed the launch of 46 new "educational cities", which will be added to the 80 existing ones, or the extension of the "learning holidays" and "summer quarters" devices which have benefited a million young people in 2020.
