(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 14 - Enrico Greppi, aka Erriquez, face and soul of Bandabardò, died this morning in his home in Fiesole.
The news was confirmed by his manager Francesco Barbaro, who has been by his side since the beginning.
The artist, who was 60 years old, had been fighting with a bad disease for some time, but his reserve and his energy had never allowed anything to shine through.
"The most wild, loud and colorful Italian folk group in business", we read opening the official website of the band, and Erriquez best represented this spirit.
With Bandabardò he had recently celebrated 25 years of career with a great event at the Mandela Forum in Florence, together with many artist friends, and since its inception, in 1993, the group had always remained faithful to itself and its ideals, becoming a point of reference of the musical scene of the 90s and beyond, so much so that even today the choir "Se mirilasso collaasso" continues to be sung by every generation.
Very reserved but sunny, Erriquez has also always fought in the social sector by embracing the causes of the weakest.
"We greet with gratitude a generous warrior and a great poet", are the moving words of his family.
