Cortina: Liensberger wins slalom gold, Curtoni 18 / a

Italy empty-handed. Men's slalom closes the World Cup tomorrow (ANSA)


Katharina Liensberger in 1.39.50 won the gold medal in the special slalom.

For the Austrian it is the second gold at the Cortina World Championships as Lara Gut, both queens of the event.

Silver to the Slovak Petra Vhlova in 1.45.50 and bronze in 1.41.48 to the American Mikaela Shiffrin, fourth medal in Cortina 2021.


    Irene Curtoni was the best blue in the discipline in which Italy has been weakest for years. in 1.43.67 followed by Martina Peterlini 19 / a in 1.43.82.

For the Austrian she is also in her first victory in this discipline after having always been on the podium this season.


    Tomorrow the special men's slalom will close the Cortina World Championships. Italy sends young Alex Vinatzer to the track - the only blue podium this season with a third place - and then the tried and tested Manfred Moelgg, Stefano Gross and Giuliano Razzoli. The track will be, as in the women's slalom, very steep and with a bottom that will have to deal with a spring sun.
