The latest figures from the health authorities bear witness to the strong circulation of the virus in the country.

Can the government succeed in its bet not to reconfigure the country?

For several weeks now, the executive has said it wants to avoid the most restrictive measures at all costs.

But if an epidemic outbreak appears, then the President of the Republic will not hesitate to put the country under a bell.

Government spokesman Gabriel Attal reminded readers of Le Parisien again this Sunday.

What about the epidemic front?

The latest figures from the health authorities show on Monday 360 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours in hospital, against 130 Sunday and 379 last week.

Since the start of the epidemic, at least since the start of the census of the victims of the disease, at least 88,933 people have died in France after being infected.

The British variant accounts for 64.6% of new cases

In terms of contamination, remember that Monday is a bit special.

The figures are traditionally lower due to the closure of laboratories.

Health authorities report on Monday 5,327 contaminations detected in the past 24 hours, against 4,703 just seven days ago.

In the space of 24 hours, French hospitals had to take care of 1,584 new patients.

In total, 25,195 patients are currently treated in French establishments.

They were 24,818 Sunday and 25,430 last Monday.

Among them, 3,849 patients suffer from a serious form of the disease which requires treatment within the intensive care units (against 3,743 on Sunday and 3,544 seven days ago).

The dynamic, on this criterion alone, is therefore not favorable.

The occupancy rate of intensive care beds, it should be remembered, is one of the epidemic indicators most scrutinized by health authorities.

As for vaccinations, 3,881,967 French people received at least one dose of vaccine on March 7.

1,925,812 people have been definitively vaccinated, that is to say that they have received both doses.

According to data posted online on Géodes for the first time this Monday evening, the so-called "British" variant B.1.1.7 represents 64.6% of new cases in France (from 22 to 85% depending on the metropolitan departments). ) during the week of February 27 to March 5.

These figures are suspected variants among the tests screened, or 52.7% of all positive PCR or antigen tests over the period of one week.
