(ANSA-AFP) - KABUL, 07 AUG - The Taliban have captured the city of Sheberghan in Jawzjan, the second Afghan provincial capital to fall into the hands of the insurgents in less than 24 hours.
The city is home to the infamous 'warlord' AbdulRashid Dostum, who returned to Afghanistan this week from Turkey where he went for medical treatment.
Since launching a series of offensives in May in conjunction with the withdrawal of foreign troops, the Taliban have taken over large rural areas of Afghanistan.
