A magical moment - caught in time!
Time stands still at the Fuorcla digl Leget. Literally. Because the closer you get to the clock that hangs between two rocks at 2650 meters, the slower its hands move. Until, if you stand right in front of it, they also come to a standstill. Even the pink second meter no longer circles the dial. Pause. Completely. It is a surreal place that the Munich artist duo GÆG has chosen for their new creative trick. Thomas Huber and Wolfgang Aichner are already known for their wild bird ideas. The two hiking enthusiasts are always drawn to nature. In 2011 they dragged a red plastic boat weighing 150 kilograms over the main Alpine ridge to the 54th Venice Biennale for “passage2011”. Two years later they organized a "powerwalk" with carried wind turbines on Europe's largest glacier,the Icelandic Vatnajökull. In 2017, Huber and Aichner went on a hike in the USA in “linear” - with a silver ballpoint pen carried on their back, they drew imaginary state borders through Utah, Wyoming and Colorado.
The artists are always concerned with the relationship between man and nature.
Driven by the question of how we deal with our planet, which is our home.
The oversized clock in an almost untouched high mountain landscape seems like a reminder torn from a Salvador Dalí painting and transformed into three-dimensionality to finally use resources sensibly.
