The Faculty of Informatics Engineering at Al-Baath University in Homs launched today the pilot phase of the local university programming competition for its eighth season for the year 2021, with the participation of 32 teams from various faculties of the university.
Dr. Elias Boutros, Vice President of Al-Baath University for Administrative Affairs, confirmed that each student team consists of three contestants and a coach, and the contestants work on one computer to solve a set of issues programmatically within 4 continuous hours, and the winning teams are approved according to solving the largest number of issues in the shortest time.
Dr. Boutros also pointed out that the experimental stage aims to prepare the contestants for the atmosphere of the competition and to test the communication system and the computer network within the hall and to ensure its readiness before the official launch of the competition tomorrow. Al-Baath University, as every year, provided all facilities and support to its distinguished students participating in the competition.
