The director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Europe, Hans Kluge, today sounded the alarm for a slowdown in the pace of anti-Covid vaccinations on the continent
.
"In the last six weeks - underlined Kluge during a press conference - vaccinations have decreased by 14%, due to a lack of access to vaccines in some countries and the lack of acceptance of vaccination in others".
Kluge urged to increase production capacity and share the available doses, putting aside any nationalist temptations.
The World Health Organization considers "reliable" a projection according to which from today to December 1 in Europe there could be another 236 thousand deaths due to the covid-19 pandemic. This was reported by a regional director of the UN agency.
