A father forgot his daughter at a rest area on Autobahn 2 in Hanover.
As the police announced, the family had taken a break on the trip to Berlin.
The father went to the toilet, the mother slept in the car.
What the man did not notice, however, was that his daughter had also gone to the toilet.
He just kept driving after he got back to the car.
The girl finally asked passers-by for help.
Because the 16-year-old did not have a phone, the family was alerted with an email.
The parents also noticed at some point that their child was not in the car.
They returned to the Varrelheide rest area.
Until then, the 16-year-old was looked after by the police.
